Ep # 12 - My guest today is Steve Love, an author, speaker, and real estate broker that has been in the industry since 1978. Steve works alongside his wife Robyn Love who has been a real estate agent since 1994. Both worked for many years as real estate appraisers and started real estate investing full time in the 1990’s. Due to their success in the real estate investing arena, they were chosen to run the Los Angeles Chapter of Investor Resource Center of America in 1994. In 2002, they started running the prosperity through real estate chapter.
Steve currently runs the Los Angeles chapter for National REIA (Real Estate Investors Association) and says, "literally just call them up! I'm looking for speakers with good track records." Check out nationalreia.org to learn more and search for your local chapter.
In today's interview, we discuss how to break into local talks like Rotary Clubs and Elks Lodges. Steve also shares a huge secret to ENSURE you get booked on the spot! At these speaking gigs, sometimes you can sell books, enroll new clients, and even have a raffle.
Steve discusses how he was booked to speak several times for the Royal Carribean Cruise Lines. He set himself up for this gig because of a desire to go on more cruises. Steve ended up speaking on as many as 5 cruises a year at one point and each time he was able to bring a family member FOR FREE! He says all you need to do is have a great talk with an interesting topic.
We even get into how to get over phone fear or "call reluctance" and call the people who actually book speakers. If you want to learn Steve's strategies and tips for booking speaking gigs, you will love this interview!

Meetings take place with a dinner from 6:00pm - 9:30pm.

Ep #09 - Stephanie Angelo, the NSA Arizona Chapter Programs Chair, joins me on the show today to discuss how speakers can get booked at HR conferences. Beyond her current role with the NSA, Stephanie is the former chair for SHRM: Society for Human Resource Management, a Member of Toastmasters, International speaker, and even the creator of a Domestic Violence awareness board game!
Stephanie keynotes and facilitates workshops on Cultures of Learning as well as Strategic Thinking and Collaborative Accountability. She is a Mastermind group leader for business owners ranging from marketers to designers, financial planners, and recruiting firms. She helps entrepreneurs grow and build their businesses while boosting sales, revenue, and market share.
Stephanie has a unique talent for connecting people and creating collaborative relationships that result in quantifiable growth. She is innovative and builds teams that make more money, blow away their competition, and form better businesses as a result.

The NSA Arizona chapter runs nine monthly programs a year. Stephanie is watching for speakers who would bring super useful tools, and would teach things the members can apply immediately. She says if you send a cold email, she actually reads them and if it's a fit you may get booked. She also says word of mouth if incredibly important, in fact that's how we met! Never shy away from speaking gigs that can get you known better and get your name out!
Stephanie also shares what NOT to do. For example, DON'T forget to follow up, honor deadlines, have your material ready, and treat local chapters like high paying clients!

Ep #08 - Elisa Hays, an international speaker and entrepreneur, joins the show today for an interview to discuss how to get booked to speak by fairs and festivals as well as how to bring a performance based speech. Additionally, we explore what it takes to get booked into associations relating to the fair industry such as the IAFE (International Association of Fairs and Exhibitions). Elisa is the president of the National Speaker Association's Northwest Chapter and we even discuss how to get booked to speak there.
Elisa began speaking, training and business consulting in 1999 while building "Let’s Pretend Entertainment," a family-centric theater company where fairs and festivals would bring her in along with her speakers to put on entertaining shows with high audience engagement. Elisa eventually sold that business after 15 years of speaking and putting on shows.
Elisa also shares very candidly about her life changing moment being hit by a semi truck going 65 mph while she was standing still. It's an incredible story of overcoming, leadership, resilience, and sacrifice. Listen in, I promise you will be transformed because of it. She is amazing, and you will love this interview!
